Hein S. Seok was born in Philadelphia and spent half of her childhood in South Korea. After returning to the U.S., she double-majored in Art History and Film & TV at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. She earned her Master’s degree at California Institute of the Arts. She was then awarded the 2006 Fulbright Fellowship to Korea.
THE HOUSE OF SHARING is Hein’s first feature documentary. It screened at Walt Disney Concert Hall and was previewed at UC Berkeley and Stanford University. The documentary premiered at the 9th Annual DC Asian Pacific American Film Festival in October 2008 and screened at the San Diego Asian Film Festival, Girlsfest, and 1001 Documentary Film Festival.
